l. Everybody has decided it the wind resistance that is causing the car to overheat, since it does it no matter if the trailer is empty or not. It's a 6 x 10 and I can stand in it. I'm 5'4".
2. Bought and open motorcycle trailer that I could pull by myself. Putting both bikes on it tomorrow and taking a test drive. Will sell the enclosed trailer when we get back from Daytona. That won't be a problem. People are always looking for enclosed trailers here. I would have preferred having the bikes enclosed, but hey...open trailer....Daytona.....closed trailer......stay home...not a chance!
3. Aparently the brake light switch cable got frozen and broke off this little bitty piece of plastic that held it in place. Unfroze the cable and my SO rigged something up until we can order a new cable. Got the "spring" back where it belongs, but of course the nut broke off. Fortunately it broke off in a place that I can ride it like that until we replace the piece. Will have to drill out the nut to get it out.
4. The dirt around the foundation was dug out by a dog we had a few years ago and I had filled it back in. Looks like the cat got under there and dug some more and some snow melted into the hole. Tomorrow we crawl under the porch and fill it with dirt again.
5. We're real optimistic about this trailer. If it doesn't haul this then it goes back to the shop. The heater wasn't working quite right before it started to overheat. We replaced the thermostat and thought that was it. We replaced it with a hotter running thermostat though. Sounds like we should have gone the other way. Thought that would be better for heat since we live in Maine. We do have the transmission cooler in. There was a lot of rust in the water after. Found out somthing was plugged on the car because we could only get heat when it idled, not moving. The garage fixed that for no charge. Told us to come back if we had any more problems. We really think it's the wind resistance thing.
I'll let you know after the test drive.
